When the brightness of the subject and the background are different (METERING) There are two ways of measuring the brightness of a subject. 4 Meters the brightness over a wide area with emphasis on the center of the screen. In this mode, subject can be shot with avarage overall brightness of the scene. n Exposure is determined by metering within the AF target area. In this mode, a subject can be shot with optimal exposure regardless of the background light.
