Error Messages Display message LINE IN USE MEMORY FULL MODEM ERROR NO FAX REPLY OUT OF PAPER PAPER JAMMED Cause & solution G You cannot change the cable type setting (feature #15 on page 62) while using the handset or the monitor. Hang up and try again. G When making a copy, the document being stored exceeds the memory capacity of the unit. Press { to clear the message. Divide the document into sections. G There is something wrong with the modem circuit. Contact our service personnel. G The other party's fax machine is busy or has run out of recording paper. Try again. G Recording paper is not installed or the unit has run out of paper. Install paper (p. 16). G Recording paper is not fed into the unit properly. Reinstall paper (p. 16). G A recording paper jam occurred. Clear the jammed paper (p. 75). PC FAIL OR BUSY PLEASE WAIT G The cable or the PC power cord is not connected correctly. Check the connections (p. 50). G The software is not running on the PC. Restart the software and try again. G The unit is warming up. Wait for a while. REDIAL TIME OUT REMOVE DOCUMENT TONER EMPTY G The other party's fax machine is busy or has run out of recording paper. Try again. G The document is jammed. Remove the jammed document (p. 77). G Attempted to transmit a document longer than 600 mm. Press { to remove the document. Divide the document into two or more sheets and try again. G The toner cartridge is empty. Replace the toner cartridge (p. 73). TONER LOW TRANSMIT ERROR G The remaining toner is low. Replace the toner cartridge as soon as possible (p. 73). We recommend you replace the drum unit every third time you replace the toner cartridge. To check the drum life and quality, please print the printer test list (p. 80). G A transmission error occurred. Try again. WRONG PAPER G The fax message was printed on paper which is shorter than letter size paper.
