Place fabric under buttonhole foot so needle enters fabric on the mark at end -nearest you. Machine stitches first row in reverse. Stitch right side of buttonhole the desired length. Raise needle to its highest position. STEP 2- Turn stitch pattern knob to #2. Make 5 or 6 stitches for first bartack. Raise needle - to its highest position. STEP 3- Turn stitch pattern knob to #3. Stitch left side of button hole the same length as first row. Raise needle to its highest position. STEP 4- Turn stitch pattern knob to #4. Make 5 or 6 stitches for = second bartack to complete buttonhole. Set stitch length knob to 0 so machine does not feed, and turn stitch pattern knob to straight stitch symbol. Make 2 or 3 stitches to securely fasten stitches. Draw upper thread through to under side. 36 - -
