Using the CAMCORDER - Basic Recording Making Your First Recording 1. Connect a Power source to the camcorder. (See page 26) 1 (A battery pack or the AC power adapter) I Insert a cassette. (See page 49) 2. Set the device to CAMCORDER and set the power switch to REC mode. I Open the LCD monitor. I If the protection tab of the cassette is open, the words STOP and PROTECTION! will be displayed. I Make sure the image you want to record appears on the LCD monitor or viewfinder. I Make sure the battery level indicates that there is enough remaining power for your expected recording time. 3. To start recording, press the START/STOP button. I REC is displayed on the LCD. Making Your First Recording
1.
Connect a Power source to the camcorder.

Insert a cassette. (See page 49)

Set the device to CAMCORDER and set the power
switch to REC mode.

Open the LCD monitor.
■
If the protection tab of the cassette is open, the
words STOP and PROTECTION! will be displayed.

Make sure the image you want to record appears
on the LCD monitor or viewfinder.
■
Make sure the battery level indicates that there is
enough remaining power for your expected
recording time.
3.
To start recording, press the START/STOPbutton.
■
REC is displayed on the LCD.
To stop recording, press the START/STOPbutton
again.
■
STBY is displayed on the LCD.
