Rewinding and Fast-forwarding a Cassette You can: x rewind or fast-forward a cassette without seeing the picture on the television. x search for a given sequence forwards or backwards on the tape. To: press: rewind the tape without viewing the picture rewind the tape while viewing the picture switch from reverse search to playback again fast-forward the tape without viewing the picture fast-forward the tape while viewing the picture switch from forward search to playback again REW ( ) when the cassette is stopped. If you press POWER while a cassette is being rewound, the VCR switches off automatically when the beginning of the cassette is reached. Press the TRACKING ( or ) buttons to minimize this effect.  If the slow motion function is used for more than five minutes, the VCR will automatically play to protect the: x cassette ; and x video heads.
