Cautions in handling the recording paper thermal paper

• Avoid installing the machine in any of the following places: Dusty or humid places Place exposed to direct sunlight Place where there is iron powder (A permanent magnet and an electromagnet are used in this machine.) • Use the print head release lever only when necessary. • Never pull the paper when it is in consult with the print head. First release the head with the print head release lever, and then remove the paper. • Never touch the surface of the print head. • Never touch the print head and the motor during printing or before they cool down. In the case of the UP-820F Printing position Head-up position Cautions in handling the recording paper (thermal paper) • Use only paper as specified by SHARP. • Unpack the thermal paper just before you use it. • Avoid heat. The paper begins to develop color at around 70˚C. • Avoid dusty and humid places for storage. Avoid direct sunlight. • The printed text on the paper can discolor under the following conditions: Exposure to high humidity and temperature. Exposure to direct sunlight. Contact with glue, thinner or a freshly copied blueprint. Heat caused by friction (scratching etc.) Contact with a rubber eraser or adhesive tape. • Be very careful when handling the thermal paper. If you want to keep a permanent record, copy the printed text with a photocopier. - 267 -
