Adjusting the speaker volume 1 While you stop playback, select "SPEAKER SETUP" after pressing SET UP. 2 Select "TEST TONE" and set "TEST TONE" to "ON." You will hear the test tone from each speaker in sequence. 3 From your listening position, select "BALANCE" or "LEVEL" and adjust the value of "BALANCE" and "LEVEL" using >/.. During this adjustment, the test tone is emitted from both speakers simultaneously. 4 Select "TEST TONE" and set "TEST TONE" to "OFF" to turn off the test tone. Default setting is to control Sony TVs with the g mark. When you connect the player to a Sony AV receiver (amplifier), you can also set the input of the receiver (amplifier) to this player with the supplied remote. TV/DISC EXPLORER/ DVD switch Number buttons 123 45 6 789 0 A B C D ALL DVD CD 1/u (POWER) Settings and Adjustments Controlling TVs with the remote 1 Slide the TV/DISC EXPLORER/DVD switch to TV. 2 Hold down 1/u (POWER), and enter your TV's manufacturer's code (see the table on the next page) using the number buttons. Then release 1/u (POWER). Code numbers of controllable TVs If more than one code number is listed, try entering them one at a time until you find the one that works with your TV. Notes • If you enter a new code number, the code number previously entered will be erased. • When you replace the batteries of the remote commander, the code number may reset to 01 (Sony). Reset the appropriate code number. 67
