In the event of this, the data stored on the internal memory will be deleted. Be sure to save the data on the internal memory on other media (backup) before sending your camcorder for repair (p. 56, see Operating Guide too). We will not compensate you for any loss of internal memory data.  During repair, we may check a minimum amount of data stored on the internal memory in order to investigate the problem. However, your Sony dealer will neither copy nor retain your data. Overall operations/Easy Handycam operation The power does not turn on.  Attach a charged battery pack to the camcorder (p. 17).  The plug of the AC Adaptor has been disconnected from the wall outlet (wall socket). Connect it to the wall outlet (wall socket) (p. 17). The camcorder does not operate even when the power is set to on.  It takes a few seconds for your camcorder to be ready to shoot after the power is turned on. This is not a malfunction.  Disconnect the AC Adaptor from the wall outlet (wall socket) or remove the battery pack, then reconnect it after about 1 minute. If the functions still do not work, press RESET (p. 7) using a pointed object. (If you press RESET, all settings, including the clock setting, are reset.) Buttons do not work.  During Easy Handycam operation, the following buttons/functions are not available.  Playback zoom (p. 40)  To turn on and off the LCD backlight (p. 34) The (OPTION) button is not displayed.  The OPTION MENU cannot be used during Easy Handycam operation. The menu settings have changed automatically.  During Easy Handycam operation, nearly all the menu items will be automatically set to the default settings.  Some menu items, such as [ IMAGE SIZE], retain the settings that were made before Easy Handycam operation.  During Easy Handycam operation, some menu items are fixed as follows.  [REC MODE]: [HD SP] or [SD SP]  [FRAME SETTING]: [ON]  [DATA CODE]: [DATE/TIME]  Some menu items retain the setting made during Easy Handycam operation even after Easy Handycam operation is finished.  The following menu items return to the default settings in more than 12 hours after you close the LCD screen. 90 Index
