Connecting Peripheral Devices You can add functionality to your computer by connecting any of these peripherals: u Phone line (page 42) u Port replicator (page 43) u Printer (page 47) u External display (page 48) u External mouse or keyboard (page 51) u External speakers (page 52) u External microphone (page 53) u Digital still camera or other serial device (page 54) u Digital video camera recorder (page 55) u Universal Serial Bus (USB) device (page 56) Before you connect peripherals, turn off the computer and all peripherals.
