Setting the Network preferences for a wireless LAN When you disable [PowerSaveMode:] Disable [PowerSaveMode:] for communicating with maximum power when the wireless LAN is unstable. However, the battery power is quickly consumed. Select [PowerSaveMode:] for normal use. When you need to select [Authentication:] When any option other than [None] is selected for [WEP :] in C of step 6, you may need to select either [Open System] or [Shared KEY] depending on your wireless LAN access point. In this case, select either [Open System] or [Shared KEY]. Tip You can register up to 30 profiles on your CLIÉ handheld. 7 Tap [OK] after configuring the settings. The profile list is displayed in the Wireless LAN Setup screen. The profile you configured is added to the list. Tip If multiple profiles are registered and [-Auto Connect-] is selected, profiles are selected in order from the top of the list down. To rearrange the list order, select a profile you want to move and tap either or in the right of the screen. 8 Tap [OK]. The Preferences screen for [Network] is displayed again. Manually creating a connection to the wireless LAN access points If no wireless LAN access point is found, you can register a profile on your CLIÉ handheld manually. Follow the steps below. 1 Tap V at the top right of the Preferences screen, and select [Network]. 2 Tap [V Service:], and select [Wireless LAN].
