Pairing with another Bluetooth device Pairing is necessary before using the Bluetooth function of this unit for the first time and when you want to connect a new Bluetooth device. Follow these procedures to pair the unit with the other device. Touch pairing If the other Bluetooth device supports NFC, you can pair it with this unit using the following procedures. Pairing 1 Press the Bluetooth function button. The Bluetooth indicator lights and the Bluetooth icon ( ) blinks, showing that pairing is possible. oo When using the remote control, press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until the Bluetooth indicator lights. 2 Enable the Bluetooth communication func- tion on the other Bluetooth device. 3 From the Bluetooth device select "SL-D800BT" (this unit). oo If a passkey is required during pairing, input "0000". When connection succeeds, the Bluetooth icon ( ) will appear on the display without blinking. oo This unit can retain pairing data for up to five devices. After five devices have been paired, if a new device is paired, the oldest pairing will be overwritten. oo When a Bluetooth device is connected, if you change the source with a function button or press the STANDBY/ON button to put the unit into standby mode, the next time the unit is turned on, the unit will try to connect automatically with the last connected Bluetooth device. oo When the other Bluetooth device is disconnected, the Bluetooth icon ( ) will appear blinking on the display of this unit. oo If the other Bluetooth device is waiting to pair, pairing will occur automatically when this unit enters pairing mode. 1 Press the Bluetooth function button. oo You cannot use touch pairing if another function is selected. 2 Hold the antenna of the device that sup- ports NFC toward the touch pairing reader. Do this within two minutes of selecting "Bluetooth". Touch pairing reader oo Hold the device that supports NFC within 2 cm of the touch pairing reader. oo Be sure to enable both the Bluetooth and NFC functions on the other Bluetooth device (smart phone, etc.) before using touch pairing. 26

this unit for the first time and when you want to connect a
new Bluetooth device.
Follow these procedures to pair the unit with the other
device.
Pairing

Press the Bluetooth function button.
The Bluetooth indicator lights and the Bluetooth icon
(
) blinks, showing that pairing is possible.
o
When using the remote control, press the
FUNCTION button repeatedly until the Bluetooth
indicator lights.

Enable the Bluetooth communication func-
tion on the other Bluetooth device.

From the Bluetooth device select
“SL-D800BT” (this unit).
o
If a passkey is required during pairing, input “0000”.
When connection succeeds, the Bluetooth icon (
)
will appear on the display without blinking.
o
This unit can retain pairing data for up to five devices.
After five devices have been paired, if a new device is
paired, the oldest pairing will be overwritten.
o
When a Bluetooth device is connected, if you
change the source with a function button or press
the STANDBY/ON button to put the unit into standby
mode, the next time the unit is turned on, the unit will
try to connect automatically with the last connected
Bluetooth device.
o
When the other Bluetooth device is disconnected, the
Bluetooth icon (
) will appear blinking on the display
of this unit.
o
If the other Bluetooth device is waiting to pair, pairing
will occur automatically when this unit enters pairing
mode.
Touch pairing
If the other Bluetooth device supports NFC, you can pair it
with this unit using the following procedures.

Press the Bluetooth function button.
o
You cannot use touch pairing if another function is
selected.

Hold the antenna of the device that sup-
ports NFC toward the touch pairing reader.
Do this within two minutes of selecting “Bluetooth”.

Hold the device that supports NFC within 2 cm of
the touch pairing reader.
o
Be sure to enable both the Bluetooth and NFC
functions on the other Bluetooth device (smart
phone, etc.) before using touch pairing.
