Introduction Connecting your TV Using the Remote Control Connecting a DVD/satellite receiver and a VCR This connection allows you to watch DVD/satellite, video, and TV programs, and record one TV channel while watching another channel. You will need: • one coaxial cable • two pairs of audio cables (one single and one pair of audio cables for a mono VCR) • one video cable (between the TV and VCR) • one S-video cable* (between the TV and DVD/satellite receiver) Stereo VCR From Antenna IN from ANT OUT to TV CH 3 CH 4 VIDEO AUDIO LR IN OUT TV S-VIDEO AUDIO CENTER CHANNEL IN ON OFF ANT( 75 ) ANT-1 OUT R L VAR AUDIO OUT VIDEO Y VIDEO Y L/ MONO L/ PB L MONO PB L AUDIO R PR R R COLOR VIDEO-1 VIDEO-2 STREAM AUDIO HD 1 IN IN AUDIO OUT AUDIO PR R COLOR STREAM HD 2 IN ANT-2 Note: *You can use a regular video cable instead of an S-video cable between the TV and DVD/ satellite receiver, but the picture quality will decrease. Do not connect both an S-video cable and a regular video cable between the TV and DVD/satellite receiver at the same time. Doing so will distort the picture. Do not connect the DVD/satellite receiver and VCR to the same video channel on the TV. (See the illustration at left, which shows the DVD/satellite receiver connected to Video-1 and the VCR connected to Video-2.) Caution: The unauthorized recording of television programs, videotapes, and other materials may infringe upon the provisions of copyright laws.
