Power and Power-up Modes To install a battery, follow the steps as detailed below: 1. Insert the battery pack as far as it will go into the computer (1). 2. Turn your computer over. Power-up modes The computer has three power-up modes: ■ Boot: Computer shuts down without saving data. Always save your work before you turn the computer off in boot mode. ■ Hibernation: Data in memory is saved to the hard disk. ■ Standby: Data is maintained in the computer's main memory. To install a battery, follow the steps as detailed below:
1.
Insert the battery pack as far as it will go into the computer (1).
