THE INTEGRATED ANSWERING DEVICE Adjusting the speaker volume level When the base speaker is in use, press ringer/vol L or M on the base to adjust the volume. Press ringer/vol L for louder or ringer/vol M for softer. The numbers 1-10 appear on the base indicating the volume levels. 1 being the softest and 10 being the loudest. Using the menu mode The Menu mode allows you to set the following Answering System functions. • To scroll through the menu options, repeatedly press CLOCK/MENU on the base in the standby mode. CLOCK/MENU The system returns to standby after the last menu option. A confirmation tone sounds to indicate the CLOCK/MENU standby mode. • If you press , the operation is canceled. CLOCK/MENU • If the system remains idle for about 5 seconds after the announcement, the system returns to standby. CLOCK/MENU Once /SELECT or /SELECT is pressed, the idle time is extended to 10 seconds. CLOCK/MENU • If there is an incoming call, the operation is canceled. • When you have completed the setting, press to exit CLOCK/MENU the menu mode, or CLOCK/MENU to move to the next menu option. CLOCK/MENU • You can also set these menus from the handset. See "Answering System Setup" on page 27 for instructions. CLOCK/MENU For your convenience, voice prompts will guide you through the menu setup mode. • If you press ringer/vol L in the maximum volume level (10) or ringer/vol M in the lowest volume level (1), you will hear a beep. • Press and hold ringer/vol L or M on the base to scroll quickly through the volume levels. volume levels.

volume. Press

If there is an incoming call, the operation is canceled.
When you have completed the setting, press
to exit
the menu mode, or

to move to the next
menu option.
