THE INTEGRATED ANSWERING DEVICE Adjusting the speaker volume level When the base speaker is in use, press ringer/vol L or M on the base to adjust the volume. Press ringer/vol L for louder or ringer/vol M for softer. The numbers 1-10 appear on the base indicating the volume levels. 1 being the softest and 10 being the loudest. Using the menu mode The Menu mode allows you to set the following Answering System functions. • To scroll through the menu options, repeatedly press CLOCK/MENU on the base in the standby mode. CLOCK/MENU The system returns to standby after the last menu option. A confirmation tone sounds to indicate the CLOCK/MENU standby mode. • If you press , the operation is canceled. CLOCK/MENU • If the system remains idle for about 5 seconds after the announcement, the system returns to standby. CLOCK/MENU Once /SELECT or /SELECT is pressed, the idle time is extended to 10 seconds. CLOCK/MENU • If there is an incoming call, the operation is canceled. • When you have completed the setting, press to exit CLOCK/MENU the menu mode, or CLOCK/MENU to move to the next menu option. CLOCK/MENU • You can also set these menus from the handset. See "Answering System Setup" on page 27 for instructions. CLOCK/MENU For your convenience, voice prompts will guide you through the menu setup mode. • If you press ringer/vol L in the maximum volume level (10) or ringer/vol M in the lowest volume level (1), you will hear a beep. • Press and hold ringer/vol L or M on the base to scroll quickly through the volume levels.
