Chapter 4 Troubleshooting If you are having difficulty operating this product, see if any of the symptoms listed below apply to your problem and follow the recommended remedy. Power Symptom This product does not turn on. Remedy Make sure that the main switch on the power supply unit is turned on. Make sure that the AC power cable is securely connected to a suitable AC wall outlet. If this product still cannot be turned on, disconnect it from the AC wall outlet, and consult your Yamaha piano dealer. Switch Box Symptom The switch box does not appear to work correctly. The switch box becomes hot. Remedy Turn off the switch box, wait 5 seconds, then turn it back on. If the problem continues, consult your Yamaha piano dealer. The chassis of the switch box may become hot depending on usage conditions. Playback Symptom This product does not read a song file. Some notes drop out during playback. Remedy Make sure that the name of the SMF song has the extension of ".mid" and the audio song has ".wav" or ".mp3." When a piano song is played back at a low volume, complex note trills and faint pianissimo passages sometimes drop out. In such cases, increase this product volume level. 28

Power

Remedy
This product does not turn on.
Make sure that the main switch on the power supply unit is
turned on.
Make sure that the AC power cable is securely connected
to a suitable AC wall outlet.
If this product still cannot be turned on, disconnect it from
the AC wall outlet, and consult your Yamaha piano dealer.
Switch Box
Symptom
Remedy
The switch box does not appear to work correctly.
Turn off the switch box, wait 5 seconds, then turn it back on.

The switch box becomes hot.

Playback
Symptom
Remedy
This product does not read a song file.
Make sure that the name of the SMF song has the
extension of “.mid” and the audio song has “.wav” or “.mp3.”
