CHAPTER 8 Monitor 8.1 Overview Use the Monitor screens to check status and statistics information. 8.1.1 What You Can Do in this Chapter • The Network Status screen (Section 8.3 on page 80) displays general LAN interface information and packet statistics. • The AP Information > Radio List screen (Section 8.4 on page 82) displays statistics about the wireless radio transmitters in the Zyxel Device. • The Station Info screen (Section 8.5 on page 86) displays statistics pertaining to the associated stations. • The WDS Link Info screen (Section 8.6 on page 87) displays statistics about the Zyxel Device's WDS (Wireless Distribution System) connections. • The Detected Device screen (Section 8.7 on page 88) displays information about suspected rogue APs. • The View Log screen (Section 8.8 on page 91) displays the Zyxel Device's current log messages. You can change the way the log is displayed, you can e-mail the log, and you can also clear the log in this screen. 8.2 What You Need to Know The following terms and concepts may help as you read through the chapter. Rogue AP Rogue APs are wireless access points operating in a network's coverage area that are not under the control of the network's administrators, and can open up holes in a network's security. See Chapter 14 on page 150 for details. Friendly AP Friendly APs are other wireless access points that are detected in your network, as well as any others that you know are not a threat (those from neighboring networks, for example).
