New Vehicle "Break-In" Ignition Positions NOTICE: Your modern Cadillacdoesn't need an elaborate "break-in." But itwill perform better in the long run if you followthese guidelines: 0 Don't drive at any one speed fast or slow for the first 500 miles (805 km). Don't make full-throttle starts. 0 Avoid making hard stops for the first 200 miles (322km)or so. During this time your new brake linings aren't yet broken in. Hard stops withnew linings can mean premature wear and earlier replacement. Follow this breaking-inguideline every time you get new brake linings. 0 Don't tow a trailer during break-in. See "Towinga Trailer" in the Index for more information. NOTICE: If your key seems stuck inLOCK and you can't turn it, be sure are using the correct you key; if so, is it all the way in? If it is, then turn the steering wheel left and rightwhile you turn the key hard. But turn thekey only with your hand. Using a tool to force could break thekey or the it ignition switch.If none of this works,then your vehicle needs service. -- -- 2-20
