Fuses and Circuit Breakers There is also a fuse block at the driver's side in the engine compartment. Lift off the cover to check the fuses. To identify and check fuses, refer to the Fuse Usage chart. The wiring circuits in your vehicle are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses, circuit breakers, and fusible thermal links in the wiring itself. This greatly reduces the chance of damage caused by electrical problems. The fuse panel is located under the left end of the instrument panel. To open, push the tab on the access door to the left and pull the door forward. Look at the silver-coloredband inside the fuse. If the band is broken or melted, replace the fuse. Be sure you replace a bad fuse with a new one of the identical size and rating. 6-52
