Part C: Periodic Maintenance Inspections connections or other conditions which could cause a heat build-up in the floor pan or could let exhaust fumes into the vehicle. See "Engine Exhaust" in the Index. Listed below are inspections and services which should be performed at least twice a year (for instance, each spring Radiator and Heater Hose Inspection and fall). You should let your GM dealer's service Inspect the hoses and have them replaced if they are department or other qualified service center do these jobs. cracked, swollen or deteriorated. Inspect all pipes, Make sure any necessary repairs are completed at once. fittings and clamps; replaceas needed. Proper procedures to perform these services may be Throttle Linkage Inspection found in a GM service manual. See "Service and Owner Inspect the throttle linkage interference or binding, for Publications" in the Index. and for damaged or missing parts. Replace parts as Steering, Suspension and Front Drive Axle needed. Replace any cables that have high effort or excessive wear.Do not lubricate accelerator and cruise Boot and Seal Inspection control cables. Inspect the front and rear suspension andsteenng system for damaged, loose or missing parts,signs of Brake System Inspection wear or lack of lubrication. Inspect the power steering Inspect the complete system. Inspect brake lines and lines and hosesfor proper hook-up, binding, leaks, hoses for proper hook-up, binding, leaks, cracks, cracks, chafing,etc. Clean and then inspect drive the chafing, etc. Inspect disc brake pads wear and rotors for axle boot seals damage, tearsor leakage. Replace for for surface condition. Also inspect drum brake linings seals if necessary. for wear and cracks. Inspect other brake parts, including drums, wheel cylinders, calipers, parking brake,etc. The Exhaust System Inspection Inspect the complete exhaust system. Inspect the body near parking brake is self-adjusting and no manual adjustment is required. You may need to have your the exhaust system. Look for broken, damaged, missing or brakes inspected more often your driving habits or if out-of-position parts as well as open seams, holes, loose conditions result in frequent braking. 7-41

Listed

are
inspections
and
services
which
should
be
performed
at
least
twice
a

Steering,
Suspension
and
Front
Drive
Axle
Boot
and
Seal
Inspection
Inspect the front and rear suspension
and steenng
system for damaged, loose or missing
parts, signs of
wear or lack of lubrication.
Inspect
the
power
steering
lines and
hoses for proper
hook-up,
binding,
leaks,
cracks,
chafing, etc. Clean
and
then
inspect
the drive
axle
boot
seals
for damage,
tearsor leakage.
Replace
seals
if
necessary.
Exhaust
System
Inspection
Inspect
the
complete
exhaust
system.
Inspect
the
body
near
the
exhaust
system.
Look
for
broken,
damaged,
missing
or
out-of-position
parts
as
well
as
open
seams,
holes,
loose
connections
or
other
conditions
which
could
cause
a
heat
build-up
in
the
floor
pan
or
could
let
exhaust
fumes
into
the
vehicle.

Inspect
the
hoses
and
have
them
replaced
if
they
are
cracked,
swollen
or
deteriorated.
Inspect
all
pipes,
fittings

Throttle
Linkage
Inspection
Inspect
the
throttle
linkage
for interference
or
binding,
and
for
damaged
or
missing
parts.
Replace
parts
as
needed.
Replace
any
cables
that
have
high
effort
or
excessive
wear.
Do

and
cruise
control
cables.
Brake
System
Inspection
Inspect
the
complete
system.
Inspect
brake
