Fuse Links Fuse links are circuit protectors that are part of the wiring harness for some electrical equipment. These, like fuses, open when the circuit lead exceeds their amperage rating. Fuse links may be purchased from your Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer. See the following charts to find out which electrical parts are protected by a fuse link. If the Engine Cranks but Does Not Start or Does Not Start After a Collision Fuel System Shut-off Switch If the engine cranks but does not start or does not start after a collision, the fuel system shut-off switch may have been activated. The shut-off switch is a device intended to stop the fuel system when your vehicle has been involved in a substantial jolt. Once the shut-off switch is activated, you must reset the switch by hand before you can start your vehicle. The switch is on the left side of the trunk. 189
