Battery Removal
Remove the seat and tool kit case
(see “Jump Starting” section in the “
How to Ride the Motorcycle” chap-
ter).
Disconnect the wires from the bat-
tery, first from the (

) terminal and
then the (+) terminal.
A. (+) Terminal

Pull the battery out of the motorcycle.
Clean the battery using a solution of
baking soda and water. Be sure that
the wire connections are clean.
Battery Installation
Connect the capped (red) wire to the
(+) terminal, and then connect the
black wire to the (

) terminal.
NOTE

Install the battery in the reverse order
of the Battery Removal.
NOTICE
Installing the (

terminal of the battery or the (+)

Put a light coat of grease on the ter-
minals to prevent corrosion.
