OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEMS Inclining front seats for rear seat entry FRONT HEAD RESTRAINTS 16sa29c 16sa30 Lift the seatback lock release lever on the side of the seat or on the side of the seatback. The seatback will incline. This allows passengers to get in or out of the rear seat easily. If a driver or front passenger uses a seat belt guide, be sure to remove it before inclining the seatback. For seat belt guides, see page 105. After a passenger gets in or out, return the seatback until it locks. For your safety and comfort, adjust the head restraint before driving. To raise the head restraint, pull it up. To lower it, press the lock release button and push the head restraint down. To move the head restraint forward or rearward, pull or push on the top. The head restraint is most effective when it is close to your head. Therefore, using a cushion on the seatback is not recommended. CAUTION D After the seatback returns, try pushing the seatback forward and rearward to make sure it is securely locked. D Never allow anyone to touch seatback lock release levers while the vehicle is moving. 100
