KEYS AND DOORS Locking with rear door child−protector THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM " 1 Unlock 2 Lock Whenever small children are in the vehicle, lock the rear door so that it does not open by the inside door handle. To do this, move the lever to the lock position as shown on the label next to the lever. To deter theft of the vehicle, this system is designed to sound an alarm if any of the doors, trunk or hood is forcibly unlocked or the battery terminal is disconnected and then reconnected while the vehicle is locked. The alarm blows the horn intermittently and flashes the headlights, tail lights and turn signal lights. Further more when the interior light switch is in the "DOOR" position, the interior light turns on. After the alarm is activated, when you unlock any door using an ignition key or wireless remote control, the tail lights turn on for about 2 seconds to inform you that the system was activated. 27
