8. Check to make sure the child restraint is properly secured prior to each use. If the child restraint is loose, repeat steps 4 through 7. Rear-facing Follow these steps to install a rear-facing child restraint in the 2nd row seats using LATCH: 1. Recline the seatback if the seatback is adjustable to assist in attaching the child restraint to the lower anchors. 2. Position the child restraint on the seat. Always follow the child restraint manufacturer's instructions. WRS0801 WRS0802 Rear facing web-mounted - step 3 3. Secure the child restraint anchor attachments to the LATCH lower anchors. 4. Return the seatback to its normal upright and locked position. Check to make sure it is not contacting front seats and preventing it from being properly secured. If you are unable to properly secure the child restraint, move it to another seating position or try a different child restraint. Rear facing rigid-mounted - step 3 5. For child restraints that are equipped with webbing mounted attachments, remove any additional slack from the anchor attachments. Press downward and rearward firmly in the center of the child restraint with your hand to compress the vehicle seat cushion and seatback while tightening the webbing of the anchor attachments.
