Manual Shift Features and Controls Deceleration To slow or stop the vehicle, release the throttle lever and apply the brakes smoothly and evenly. As the vehicle slows and engine RPM decreases, disengage the clutch and shift to a lower gear. NOTE: Be sure the engine RPM has sufficiently decreased before shifting to a lower gear. WARNING Improper use of the brakes, or shifting when the engine RPM is too high can cause the tires to lose traction or stop rotating, which could lead to loss of control, accident, and injury. It could also cause engine or drive train damage. Make sure the engine RPM has sufficiently decreased before shifting to a lower gear. 67

Deceleration
To slow or stop the vehicle, release the throttle lever and apply the brakes smoothly and
evenly. As the vehicle slows and engine RPM decreases, disengage the clutch and shift to a
lower gear.
NOTE:
Be sure the engine RPM has sufficiently decreased before shifting to a lower gear.
WARNING
Improper use of the brakes, or shifting when the engine RPM is too high can cause the tires to lose
traction or stop rotating, which could lead to loss of control, accident, and injury. It could also cause
engine or drive train damage.
