CAUTION! If the ambient temperature is high or the appliance is fully loaded, and the appliance is set to the lowest temperatures, it may run continuously causing frost to form on the rear wall. In this case the dial must be set to a higher temperature to allow automatic defrosting and therefore reduced energy consumption. 3.5 FROSTMATIC function Press the FROSTMATIC button. The FROSTMATIC indicator appears. To switch off the function before its automatic end, press the FROSTMATIC button until the FROSTMATIC indicator turns off 3.6 Door open alarm An acoustic alarm will sound if the door is left open for a few minutes. The door open alarm conditions are indicated by: • a flashing alarm indicator; • an acoustic buzzer. Press the alarm reset switch or close the appliance door to deactivate the acoustic alarm. 4. FIRST USE 4.1 Cleaning the interior Before using the appliance for the first time, the interior and all internal accessories should be washed with lukewarm water and some neutral soap to remove the typical smell of a brandnew product, then dried thoroughly. 5. DAILY USE WARNING! Refer to Safety chapters. ENGLISH 7 When normal conditions are restored (door closed), the alarm will stop. 3.7 High temperature alarm If the temperature inside the freezer has risen to a point where the safe storage of frozen food is no longer ensured (for example due to an power failure), the Alarm light will blink and an acoustic alarm will sound. When the freezer is first switched on, the Alarm light blinks until the temperature has dropped to a safe level for the storage of frozen food. 1. Switch off the warning tone by pressing the FROSTMATIC switch. The FROSTMATIC indicator appears. The Alarm light blinks until the required temperature has been reached again. 2. Release theFROSTMATIC switch as soon as the Alarm light is off. The FROSTMATIC indicator turns off. CAUTION! Do not use detergents or abrasive powders, as these will damage the finish. 5.1 Freezing fresh food The freezer compartment is suitable for freezing fresh food and storing frozen and deep-frozen food for a long time.
