Also, the version string may be different from above. 5 Install the .vib module: esxupdate -b /tmp/aacraid/vmware-esx-drivers-scsi-aacraid-400.4.1.7.279001.0.4.260247.x86_64.vib --nodeps --nosigcheck --maintenancemode update 6 Remove the RAID Controller Installation DVD, then reboot your computer. Note: Currently, the Adaptec Storage Manager GUI is not supported on VMware. To create and manage arrays, you must connect to the VMware machine from a remote GUI or use the ARCCONF utility. See page 72 for more information. Installing on FreeBSD To install the driver on FreeBSD: 1 Start your computer. 2 Insert and mount the driver disk: mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt 3 Copy the driver package to the /tmp directory: cp /mnt/aac8x-i386.tgz /tmp 4 Install the driver package: pkg_add /tmp/aac8x-i386.tgz 5 Remove the driver disk, then reboot your computer. 6 Continue with Managing Your Storage Space on page 70.
