The new HostRAID driver will be displayed under SCSI and RAID controllers in the Device Manager. Enabling HostRAID Support After installing the HostRAID driver, you must enable HostRAID support before you can use the RAID features. To enable HostRAID for the boot channel, follow these steps: 1 Press Ctrl+A keys simultaneously when the Adaptec BIOS appears. 2 Select the channel where your boot drive is connected, then press Enter. 3 From the Options menu, select Configure/View SCSI Controller Settings and press Enter. 4 From the Configuration menu, select HostRAID and press Enter. 5 From the HostRAID Pop-up menu, select Enabled. 6 Press Esc, save change, then Exit. Completing the HostRAID Driver Installation After you have installed the HostRAID driver and enabled HostRAID support, you need to complete the installation so that the Windows operating system can detect the new enabled driver hardware. To complete your HostRAID driver installation, follow these steps: 1 Restart Windows XP. Windows XP will detect the newly enabled HostRAID support and will prompt you for the HostRAID driver. E-6
