Picture is unclear or noisy. • Disc is being fast-forwarded or fast-reversed. - The picture may be unclear, but this is normal. • Vehicle's battery power is weak. - Check the battery power and wiring. (The unit may malfunction if the battery power is under 11 volts with a load applied.) • Monitor's fluorescent tube is worn out. - Replace the monitor's fluorescent tube. Image stops sometimes. • Disc is scratched. - Replace with a non-scratched disc. Audio The sound is not output from the speakers. • Unit has no output signal of the internal amplifier. - POWER IC is switched to "ON" (page 22). Indication for CD Player HI TEMP • Protective circuit is activated due to high temperature. - The indicator will disappear when the temperature returns to within operation range. NO DISC • No CD is inserted. - Insert a CD. • Although a disc is inserted, "NO DISC" is displayed and the unit does not start to play or eject the disc. - Remove the disc by following these steps: Press the c button again for at least 2 seconds. If the disc still does not eject, consult your Alpine dealer. Indication for DVD/Video CD Player DISC ERROR ERROR (Audio display) (Monitor display) • Mechanism error. 1) Press c and eject the disc. If the disc does not eject, press c again for at least 2 seconds and eject the disc. If the disc still does not eject, consult your Alpine dealer. 2) When the error indication remains after ejecting, press c again. If the error indication still does not turn off after pressing c a few times, consult your Alpine dealer. NO DISC NO DISC (Audio display) (Monitor display) • No disc is inserted. - Insert a disc. • Although a disc is inserted, "NO DISC" is displayed and the unit does not start to play or eject the disc. - Remove the disc by following step: Press c again for at least 2 seconds. ERROR • Mechanism error. 1) Press the c button and eject the CD. If not ejecting, consult your Alpine dealer. 2) When the error indication remains after ejecting, press the c button again. If the error indication still does not turn off after pressing the c button for a few times, consult your Alpine dealer. • When "ERROR" is displayed: If that the disc cannot be ejected by pressing c, press the RESET switch (refer to page 7) and press c again. If the disc still cannot be ejected, consult your Alpine dealer. PROTECT • A copy-protected WMA file was played back. - You can only play back non-copy-protected files. UNSUPPORT • The disc is not written in a MP3/WMA supported format. - Use a disc written at the MP3/WMA supported format. (Monitor display) • Remote control operation is not possible. - For some discs or playing modes, certain operations are not possible. This is not a malfunction. REGIONAL CODE VIOLATION ERROR (Audio display) (Monitor display) • Disc does not match regional code number. - Load a disc that matches the regional code number. HI-TEMP HI TEMP (Audio display) (Monitor display) • Protective circuit is activated at high temperature. - The indicator will disappear when the temperature returns to within operation range. - Leave the power OFF until the temperature decreases and then turn the power ON again. 51-EN
