6.1 RAID driver installation After creating the RAID sets for your server system, you are now ready to install an operating system to the independent hard disk drive or bootable array. This part provides instructions on how to install the RAID controller drivers during OS installation. 6.1.1 Creating a RAID driver disk You may have to use another system to create the RAID driver disk from the system/motherboard support CD or from the Internet. Windows® 2000/2003 Server A floppy disk with the RAID driver is required when installing Windows® 2000/2003 Server operating system on a hard disk drive that is assigned to an array. To create a RAID driver disk from Windows® environment: 1. Place the system or motherboard support CD in the optical drive. 2. When the D r i v e r s menu appears, select the RAID driver disk you want to create. OR Browse the contents of the support CD to locate the driver disk utility. 3. Insert a formatted high-density floppy disk to the floppy disk drive. 4. Follow screen instructions to complete the process. 5.
