Trouble Shooting ♦ Attempting to shred more than 12 sheets could lead to paper jams. If a jam occurs and the cutter ceases operation please press the power switch to "REV" and pull out the jammed paper. ♦ If the paper jams in the blades, please turn off the power switch and unplug the power cord of the unit from the AC outlet and clean all paper at the entrance and exit of the throat. ♦ If the shredder is run continuously for a long period of time and the motor overheats, a safety thermal switch will automatically shut off the unit. If this happens, turn the power switch to the "OFF" position for 10 minutes or more before continuing. Caution ♦ KEEP THIS UNIT AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND PETS! ♦ DO NOT PLACE FINGERS TOO CLOSE TO THE SHREDDING THROAT SERIOUS INJURY MAY OCCUR. ♦ AVOID GETTING TIES, JEWELRY, HAIR OR LOOSE CLOTHING NEAR THE SHREDDING THROAT SERIOUS INJURY MAY OCCUR. ♦ DO NOT attempt to open this unit by yourself as doing so may expose you to sharp cutting blades and / or high voltage electrical shock which could cause serious injury and will void the manufacturers warranty. ♦ Do not alter the unit or power cord in any way. Do not operate the unit if it or the power cord appears damaged in any way. • Never place the shredder near water or any heat source. ♦ Always turn the shredder off and unplug the power cord from the AC outlet before cleaning it, moving it, emptying the wastebasket or not using it for an extended period of time. ♦ Shredding paper, envelope, or labels with a sticky substance like glue may lead to paper jams. Do not shred any wet paper, carbon paper, or vinyl bags. The shred will stick in the cutter and may lower the shredding performance. ♦ Please empty the wastebasket regularly to ensure that the shredder exit does not become blocked with paper. ♦ One folded sheet of paper equals 2 sheets of paper. DX120P SWINTON AVENUE TRADING LIMITED WARRANTY This limited warranty covers the original purchase of new product used for normal commercial, personal or household use. Swinton Avenue Trading (SAT) warrants its products be free from the defects in materials and workmanship (normal wear and tear excepted), from three years from the date of purchase, except as provided below, SAT, at its opinion, will repair or replace with a comparable product, free of charge, any product, part or component, which fails under normal use as a result of such defect. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by fire, accident, negligence, misuse, improper cleaning or other circumstances not directly attributable to manufacturing defects. SAT does not warrant the color-fastness or matching of colors, grains or textures of such materials. This warranty does not apply to: modifications of the product, attachements to the product not approved by SAT, and products that were not installed, used, or maintained in accordance with product instructions and warnings. SAT PROVIDES THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES EITHER EXPRESSLY OR IMPLIED. EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED ARE ALL WARRANTIES OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULIER PURPOSE OR MERCHANTABILITY. SAT'S SOLE OBLIGATION AND THE USER'S EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS WARRANTY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AT SAT'S SOLE DIRECTION AND COST, OF PRODUCT OR COMPONENTS. IN NO EVENT SHALL SAT, ITS AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES OR PARENT COMPANIES BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF A CLAIM OF DEFECTIVE PRODUCT EVEN IF SAT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. SOME STATES OR PROVINCES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH MAY VARY BY STATE OR PROVINCE. THIS WARRANTY APPLIES ONLY TO THE U.S AND CANADA. Item # 811-608
