6 Color Correction and Color Filtration The buttons and controls in Convert to 8-bit indexed dialog window Color samples table Contains the samples of colors of the current palette, i.e. the palette that will be applied by pressing OK. Color counter This control is used to show the number of colors in the current palette. You can enlarge or reduce this number. Set auto palette button Be pressing this button you force WiseImage to automatically reset palette. WISEIMAGE determines the set of colors that most truly represents the image and places them into the color samples table. Their number is reflected it the color counter spinbox. Reset palette button Restores the native palette of the image. Preview and Light paint The Preview window is supplied by its usual set of buttons described on pages 17. The Light paint is the additional tool consisting of color selector and Light paint checkbox. The Light paint tool allows you to see in the Preview window where the pixels of selected color reside. To preview pixels of selected color 1. Select color sample (samples). 2. Click on colored box near the Light paint checkbox and choose an appropriate color in the color selection dialog. Press OK. 3. Check the Light paint box. For better previewing select color for light painting contrasting to those in color samples table. 4. Pan image in preview window and watch the pixels and areas of color, selected on step 3. Eyedropper This tool is used to obtain a color by clicking on the pixel in the Preview window or in document window. RGB button Opens a dialog of color selection, let you choose new color and change the color selected in color samples table with the new one. The image is repainted with the new palette. 73

Color samples table
Contains the samples of colors of the
