Remote Installation Step 6 Serial Settings The SMB Remote IP Device supports one serial device, which can be attached using the included serial cable. The serial device can be accessed remotely via the IP Device's VT100 serial terminal emulation. If you have a serial device connected to the Switch, such as a power distribution unit (PDU), you must configure the serial (RS232) settings. To open the Serial-Settings page, click "Serial Settings" under "Administration" in the far-left menu (see Fig. 5). Fig. 5 Serial-Settings Page To configure your serial device: 1. Type in the name of the serial device. 2. Using the drop-down menus, select the correct baud rate, parity, and data-and stop-bit parameters for the device. 3. Check the "Show" box. This will make the serial device appear in the list of servers and devices that can be accessed through the quick-access toolbar. 25

Serial Settings
The SMB Remote IP Device supports one serial device, which can be attached
using the included serial cable. The serial device can be accessed remotely via
the IP Device’s VT100 serial terminal emulation.
If you have a serial device connected to the Switch, such as a power distribution
unit (PDU), you must configure the serial (RS232) settings. To open the
Serial-Settings page, click “Serial Settings” under “Administration” in the far-left
menu (see Fig. 5).

To configure your serial device:
1.
