Cleaning the appliance d WARNING d To avoid electrical shock which can cause severe personal injury or death, disconnect power to appliance before cleaning. After cleaning, reconnect power. d WARNING d To avoid personal injuries or property damage, observe the following: - Do not clean the appliance with a steam cleaner. - Do not let the water used for cleaning drip onto the light or control panel. - Do not use abrasive or acidic cleaning agents or solvents which may damage the surfaces of the appliance. - Never clean shelves and containers in the dishwasher. The parts may warp. q Switch off the appliance with the POWER button! Pull out the mains plug or switch off the fuse. q Clean the door seal with water only and dry thoroughly. q Clean the appliance with lukewarm water and a little dishwashing liquid. q Do not let the water used for cleaning drip onto the control panel or light. q Wash the shelves and containers in lukewarm soapy water and then rinse with clear water. q Carefully remove persistent dirt with a soft plastic brush. q To prevent stains, dry shelves and containers with a soft cloth immediately after cleaning. q Check the ventilation openings on the panel. q Remove dirt with a small brush. q After cleaning: Switch on the appliance with the POWER button. i Have your dealer inform you about special cleaning and care information for appliance surfaces. q Wipe appliance surfaces with a damp cloth. See section on Cleaning the appliance". q Thoroughly clean all packing containers used in the appliance. q Pack strongĆsmelling food in airtight containers to prevent the buildĆup of odors. q Stack food in the appliance. q Switch on the appliance with the POWER button. q After 24 hours check whether the odors have been eliminated. Eliminating persistent odors q Switch off the appliance with the POWER button! q Take all food out of the appliance. q Remove shelves and containers. q Fill the interior with wrinkled newspaper (not magazine paper). q Place several charcoal briquettes on the paper. q Close the door and leave closed for 1ć2 days. 18
