Before using the coffeemaker for the first time q First run water through the coffeemaker without coffee. Fill water tank with 6-7 cups of water. Select the 5-8 cup setting and turn on the coffeemaker. q If the coffeemaker smells new", run 2 cups of vinegar diluted with 5 cups of water through the coffeemaker, then follow this up twice with 7 cups of clean water. Important information concerning the use of this coffeemaker Do not fill the tank with less than 3 cups, otherwise the coffee will not reach the required temperature or strength. Do not fill the tank with more than 8 cups (max. level) otherwise the thermal carafe will overflow. To remove or reĆattach the lid on the water tank, swivel it open so that it is pointing straight up. Fill the tank with cold water only. Any other liquid will damage the coffeemaker. Do not remove the carafe for longer than 20 seconds when pouring one or two cups before the coffee has finished brewing. Do not use a different type of thermal carafe with this coffeemaker, otherwise the drip lock" will prevent the coffee from passing out through the bottom of the filter which will then overflow. Make sure the carafe has been properly inserted into the coffeeĆ maker before turning it on. Do not stir the inside of the thermal carafe with a sharpĆedged object or put your hand inside. 4
