Appendix A Installation when using Web Services (Windows Vista® and Windows® 7) A Note • You must configure the IP address on your machine before you proceed with this section. If you have not configured the IP address, see Configuring your machine for a network with an Ethernet cable connection (DCP-J715W, MFC-J615W and MFC-J630W only) on page 9 first. • Verify the host computer and print server are either on the same subnet, or that the router is properly configured to pass data between the two devices. • Only printer support is installed with Web Services. a Insert the installation CD-ROM. b Choose your CD-ROM drive/install/driver/gdi/32 or 64. c Choose your language and then double-click DPIns.exe. d (Windows Vista®) Click , then choose Network. (Windows® 7) Click , Control Panel, Network and Internet, and then View network computers and devices. e The machine's Web Services Name will be shown with the printer icon. Right click the machine you want A to install. Note The Web Services Name for the Brother machine is your model name and the MAC Address (Ethernet Address) of your machine (e.g. Brother MFC-XXXX [XXXXXXXXXXXX]). f From the pull down menu, click Install. 105
