5.2 Setting in the User Mode ● Length of scanned document settings U10-0 Normal mode Length of document is 17" (432 mm) or less (default). U10-1 Long Document mode Length of document is 39.4" (1,000 mm) or less. Important Note the following points when using the Extra Long mode. ● Processing speed may slow down when scanning with automatic size detection while Extra Long mode is set. ● When using the Extra Long mode, if you place a long document askew in the document tray, it will rub against both sides of the feeding path and may damage the document. Be sure to align the document straight when placing it in the document tray. ● When using the Extra Long mode, documents may be damaged if the paper jam detection us late. Be sure to watch out for paper jams. ● Be sure to use the Manual Feeding mode when scanning in Extra Long mode. ● Settings SCSI Transfer Speed Set the maximum value for synchronous transfer speed for the SCSI interface. U11-0: 5 Mbyte/sec U11-1: 10 Mbyte/sec (First SCSI) U11-2: 20 Mbyte/sec (Ultra SCSI) (default) If the scanner does not operate correctly when the output speed is set to [20 Mbyte/sec], reduce the transfer speed to [10 Mbyte/sec] or [5 Mbyte/sec]. If you change the setting for the SCSI transfer speed, turn OFF the scanner, and then 5 Important turn it ON. 61

Note the following points when using the Extra Long mode.
Processing speed may slow down when scanning with automatic size detection while
Extra Long mode is set.
When using the Extra Long mode, if you place a long document askew in the

Set the maximum value for synchronous transfer speed for the SCSI interface.
U11-0:
5 Mbyte/sec
U11-1:
10 Mbyte/sec (First SCSI)
U11-2:
20 Mbyte/sec (Ultra SCSI) (default)
If the scanner does not operate correctly when the output speed is set to [20
Mbyte/sec], reduce the transfer speed to [10 Mbyte/sec] or [5 Mbyte/sec].
If you change the setting for the SCSI transfer speed, turn OFF the scanner, and then
turn it ON.
