Protecting Images Still Images Movies Protect important images to prevent accidental erasure by the camera (p. 139). z Press the m button, and then choose : in the menu (p. 37). [Protected] is displayed. z To cancel protection, repeat this process and choose : again, and then press the m button. • Protected images on a memory card will be erased if you format the card (pp. 160, 161). • Protected images cannot be erased by the camera. To erase them, cancel protection settings first. Using the Menu Access the setting screen. z Press the n button, and then choose [Protect] on the 1 tab (p. 38).
