Power Saving Function (Auto Power Down) To save battery power, the screen turns off, and the camera shuts down automatically when it is not operated for a certain time. Power Saving during Shooting The screen will turn off approximately 1 minute after the camera is last operated. After about 2 more minutes, the lens will retract and the power will turn off. When the screen has turned off but the lens has not yet retracted, pressing the shutter button halfway (p. 23) turns on the screen and shooting can continue. Power Saving during Playback The power will turn off approximately 5 minutes after the camera is last operated. • You can turn off the power saving function (p. 159). • You can adjust the time before the screen turns off (p. 160). Low Level Memory Card Formatting Perform low level formatting when [Memory card error] appears, the camera does not operate properly, or you think that the recording/reading speed of a memory card has dropped. As you cannot retrieve the erased data, exercise adequate caution before formatting the memory card. Display the menu. ● Press the n button. Choose [Format]. ● Press the qr buttons to choose the 3 tab. ● Press the op buttons or turn the Ê dial to choose [Format], then press the m button. 51
