Troubleshooting Camera Camera will not operate. Power is not turned on. z Press the power button for a moment (Basic Guide p. 3). Memory card slot or battery cover is open. z Confirm that the memory card slot cover or battery cover is securely closed (Basic Guide p. 1). Batteries are loaded in the wrong direction. z Put batteries back into the camera in the correct direction (Basic Guide p. 1). Batteries are not the right type. z Use only unused AA-size alkaline batteries or Canon AA-size NiMH batteries. (Basic Guide p. 1).
