Where to Go Next Understanding Basic Hardware Architecture and Cisco IOS Software Verifying the ROM Monitor Image To verify whether the upgrade ROM monitor or the read-only ROM monitor image has been installed, perform the following steps. Step 1 Step 2 enable Enables privileged EXEC mode. Enter your password if prompted. Router> enable show rom-monitor When in Cisco IOS, this command in privileged EXEC mode shows both the read-only and the upgrade ROM monitor image versions, as well as which ROM monitor image is running.
