The Compaq SSD Setup Utility performs the upgrade to the multiprocessor HAL. You need the Windows NT Server and Service Pack media to accomplish the procedure that follows. CAUTION: If the boot partition is formatted as NTFS, there is no easy recovery if the incorrect HAL is installed. Therefore, be careful with your selections. With Windows NT Server running on the ProLiant 5000 Server, follow these steps: 1. Insert the Windows NT SSD (Diskette # 1) into the diskette drive. 2. Select File¡ Run from Program Manager. 3. Enter the following: A:\setup where A: is the letter of the diskette drive. 4. Select Custom from the Setup Installations Options Menu. 5. Select the HAL tab from the Setup - Custom Installation menu. 6. Select the Upgrade to multiprocessor HAL check box. 16
