4-14 Compaq Parallel Database Cluster Model PDC/O1000 for Oracle8i and Windows 2000 Administrator Guide Supported RAID Levels RAID provides several fault-tolerant options to protect your cluster's shared data. However, each RAID level offers a different mix of performance, reliability, and cost. The RA4000/RA4100 Array and its RA4000 Array Controller support these RAID levels: I RAID 0 I RAID 0+1 I RAID 1 I RAID 4 I RAID 5 NOTE: RAID 0 does not provide the fault tolerance feature of other RAID levels. For RAID level definitions and information about configuring hardware RAID, refer to the following: I Refer to the information about RAID configuration contained in the Compaq StorageWorks RAID Array 4000 User Guide or the Compaq StorageWorks RAID Array 4100 User Guide. I Refer to the Compaq white paper Configuring Compaq RAID Technology for Database Servers, #ECG 011/0598, available at the Compaq website at www.compaq.com I Refer to the various white papers on Oracle8i, which are available at the Compaq ActiveAnswersTM website at www.compaq/activeanswers
