Refer to "Assembly _ _R _ ADVA__CE o The line will advance approxhnately 2 inches each time the bottom of the trimmer head is tapped on the ground with the engine running at full throttle. o The most eWmient line length is the maximum length allowed by the line limiter, o Airways keep the shield in place when the tool is being operated. To ad_ance line: 1 Operate the engine at full throttle 2 Hold trimmer head parallel to and above the grassy area 3 Lightly tap the bottom of the trimmer head on the ground one time, See Figure 15 Approximately 2 inches of line will be advanced with each tap° NOTE: If the line is worn down to two inches or less, more than one tap will be required to obtain the most efficient line length NOTE: Scalping can occur when tapping the bottom of the trimmer head on the ground. To avoid scalping in critical locations, tap the bottom of the trinamer head in an inconspicuous area when advancing the trimmer line. 14 Make carburetor adjustments with the drive shaft housing supported to prevent the trimmer line from contacting any object, Hold the tool with your hand Do not use the optional shoulder strap for support. f, Keep others away when making carburetor adjustments. g Use only accessories or attachments mended for this tool by Sears. recom- J. CUTTING Inspect the area to be cut before each use.
