Service 7 NOTE: This Operator's Manual covers several models. Garden tiller features may vary by model. Not all features in this manual are applicable to all garden tiller models and the garden tiller depicted may differ from yours. Belt Replacement Your tiller has been engineered with a belt designed for long life and optimal performance. It should never be replaced with a non-OEM belt. Order all belts through an authorized service dealer or by contacting Customer Support as instructed on page 2. 1. Disconnect and ground the spark plug wire against the engine. 2. Remove the belt cover from the left side of the tiller by removing the two screws from the top of the belt cover. See Figure 7-1. 4. Remove the belt keeper assembly located behind the engine pulley by removing the two hex bolts and lock washers. See Figure 7-2. Belt Belt Keeper Screws Idler Pulley Engine Pulley Figure 7-2 5. Remove the idler pulley by removing the bolt and nut. See Figure 7-2. 6. Remove the old belt and install the new belt. Follow the instructions in reverse order to re-install the belt keeper and belt cover. See Figure 7-2. NOTE: Upon reassembly, make certain the belt is routed over the idler pulley and inside of belt keepers by the engine pulley. Screw Nut & washer Figure 7-1 3. Remove the nut and washer from the front side of the belt cover. Remove the hex head screw at the back of the cover. See Figure 7-2. 15
