Service 8 Belt Replacement Your tiller has been engineered with a belt designed for long life and optimal performance. It should never be replaced with a non-OEM belt. Order all belts through an authorized service dealer or by contacting Customer Support as instructed on page 2. 1. Disconnect and ground the spark plug wire against the engine. 2. Remove the belt cover from the left side of the tiller by removing the two screws from the top of the belt cover. See Fig. 7-1. Screws 4. Remove the idler pulley by removing the bolt and nut. See Fig. 7-2. 6. Remove the old belt and install the new belt. Follow the instructions in reverse order to re-install the belt keeper and belt cover. See Fig. 7-2. NOTE: Upon reassembly, make certain the belt is routed over the idler pulley and inside of belt keepers by the engine pulley. Off-Season Storage Screw Nut and washer If the tiller will not be used for a period longer than 30 days, the following steps should be taken to prepare the tiller for storage. Using a pressure washers will result in shortened life and reduce serviceability. • Refer to the Engine Operator's Manual for the correct engine storage instructions. • Wipe the tines with an oiled rag to prevent rust. • Store the tiller in a clean, dry area. Do not store next to corrosive materials, such as fertilizer. NOTE: When storing any type of power equipment in an unventilated area or metal storage shed, care should be taken to rustproof the equipment. Using a light oil or silicone, coat the equipment and especially any springs, bearings, and cables. 20

Belt Replacement

NOTE:
