This command must be completely configured properly for the SMTP function of the switch to correctly operate. server - Enter the IP address of the SMTP server on a remote device. server_port - Enter the virtual port number that the Switch will connect with on the SMTP server. The common port number for SMTP is 25. self_mail_addr - Enter the e-mail address from which mail messages will be sent. This address will be the from address on the e-mail message sent to a recipient. Only one self mail address can be configured for this Switch. This string can be no more that 64 alphanumeric characters. add mail_receiver - Choose this parameter to add mail recipients to receive e-mail messages from the Switch. Up to 8 e-mail addresses can be added per Switch. delete mail_receiver - Choose this parameter to delete mail recipients from the configured list receiving e-mail messages from the Switch. Purpose
Used to disable the Switch as a SMTP client.
Syntax
disable smtp
Description
This command, in conjunction with the
enable smtp command
will enable and disable the Switch as a SMTP client without
changing configurations.
Parameters
None.
Restrictions
Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To disable SMTP on the Switch.
DES-3026:4#disable smtp
Command: disable smtp
Success.

Description
This command will allow the user to set the necessary parameters
to configure the SMTP server and mail recipients. This command
must be completely configured properly for the SMTP function of
the switch to correctly operate.
Parameters
server <ipaddr>
- Enter the IP address of the SMTP server on a
remote device.
server_port <tcp_port_number 1-65535>
- Enter the virtual port
number that the Switch will connect with on the SMTP server. The
common port number for SMTP is 25.
self_mail_addr <mail addr 64>-
Enter the e-mail address from
