This command must be completely configured properly for the SMTP function of the switch to correctly operate. server - Enter the IP address of the SMTP server on a remote device. server_port - Enter the virtual port number that the Switch will connect with on the SMTP server. The common port number for SMTP is 25. self_mail_addr - Enter the e-mail address from which mail messages will be sent. This address will be the from address on the e-mail message sent to a recipient. Only one self mail address can be configured for this Switch. This string can be no more that 64 alphanumeric characters. add mail_receiver - Choose this parameter to add mail recipients to receive e-mail messages from the Switch. Up to 8 e-mail addresses can be added per Switch. delete mail_receiver - Choose this parameter to delete mail recipients from the configured list receiving e-mail messages from the Switch. Up to 8 e-mail addresses can be added per Switch. Only administrator-level users can issue this command. 51

Purpose
Used to disable the Switch as a SMTP client.
Syntax
disable smtp
Description
This command, in conjunction with the
enable smtp command
will enable and disable the Switch as a SMTP client without
changing configurations.
Parameters
None.
Restrictions
Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To disable SMTP on the Switch.
DES-3026:4#disable smtp
Command: disable smtp
Success.

Description
