Replacing the Optical Drive WARNING: Before working inside your computer, read the safety information that shipped with your computer and follow the steps in "Before You Begin" on page 7. After working inside your computer, follow the instructions in "After Working Inside Your Computer" on page 9. Procedure 1 Gently slide the optical drive into the optical-drive bay through the front of the computer. 2 Align the screw holes on the optical drive with the screw holes on the chassis. 3 Replace the screws that secure the optical drive to the chassis. 4 Connect the power and data cables to the optical drive. NOTE: Repeat steps 1 to 4 to replace secondary optical-drive, if applicable. Postrequisites 1 Replace the front bezel. See "Replacing the Front Bezel" on page 20. 2 Replace the computer cover.
