www.dell.com | support.dell.com Charging the Battery The high-capacity battery pack can be charged while detached from the computer, using either the 70-W AC adapter that ships with the battery pack or the 50-W AC adapter that ships with the computer. 1 Plug the AC adapter's permanently attached cable into the AC adapter connector on the battery pack. 2 Plug the AC adapter power cable into the other end of the AC adapter. 3 Plug the other end of the AC adapter power cable into an electrical outlet. The battery should fully charge in approximately 2.5 hours using the 70-W AC adapter; it should charge in about 3.5 hours using the 50-W AC adapter. The high-capacity battery pack will also charge when attached to the computer while the computer is connected to an electrical outlet. The computer checks the battery pack charge and temperature; if necessary, the computer's AC adapter charges the battery and maintains the battery charge. Charging in this manner takes longer than if the battery pack were connected to AC power through the AC adapter. 12 Dell™ Latitude™ C400 High-Capacity Batter y Pa ck
