(Rev. 11/3/98) FILE LOCATION: D:\Eri_DProject\Dell\Temp\413CU0s\413CUeb0.fm General EMC Guidelines • Shielded signal cables: Using shielded cables ensures that you maintain the appropriate EMC classification for the intended environment. For parallel printers, a cable is available from Dell Computer Corporation. If you prefer, you can order a cable from Dell Computer Corporation on the World Wide Web at http:// www.dell.com. • Protecting against Electrostatic Discharge: Static electricity can harm electronic components inside your computer. To prevent static damage, discharge static electricity from your body before you touch any of your computer's electronic components, such as a memory module. You can do so by touching an unpainted metal surface on the computer's I/O panel. • Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) is any signal or emission, radiated in free space or conducted along power or signal leads, that endangers the functioning of a radio navigation or other safety service or seriously degrades, obstructs, or repeatedly interrupts a licensed radio communications service. Your Dell computer is designed to comply with applicable regulations regarding EMI. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Dell could void your authority to operate the equipment. Additional regulatory information regarding your computer can be found in your online User's Guide. 1-4 Dell Latitude System Information
